I’m Mitch Berg. I’m honored to have been elected chair of the Senate District 65 Republicans at our convention on March 16.
First things first; thanks to outgoing chair Rhys Parry for keeping things going this past year, and for giving me the “keys to the car”, as it were.
I told everyone at the convention I’d have an email out to the entire district, to discuss what’s coming up. It’s a little later than I wanted, but here we go!
Here’s what you can expect to hear about in the coming couple of weeks:
- SD65 Get-Together: I’ll be sending out details of an SD65 “Get-Together” soon. It’s not going to be an official “meeting” or “convention” – just a chance to meet, talk a little politics (or maybe anything but politics), brainstorm ideas for fundraisers, talk about some of the opportunities for volunteering, meet our candidate (or, hopefully, candidates), and enjoy the fact that you’re not alone as a Republican in the middle of Democrat country! This will likely happen after the CD4 convention.
- Fundraiser!: I’ve got some ideas for fundraisers. You all, no doubt, have better ones. Either way – we will have one or more of them before campaign season really kicks off.
- Convention Talk: If you were elected as a delegate or alternate to the 4th Congressional District Convention and the State Convention, I’ll have an email out to you next week. I know not everyone can make every convention – especially up in Duluth – but I’d like to make sure we communicate about who can make it to which event, arrange ride-shares, and basically make sure that we have people there to do the voting when the time comes.
That’s about it for right now – but there’ll be more to come later.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via the website.
Thanks for getting involved!
